I spent $120ish on a pack of about 8 presets and I *loved* them…until I got the R6 and the colors were wildly different. They just didn’t work as well anymore. Right after switching cameras, I got TAP profiles and I’m really liking them. I got them during a sale so I spent less than $200, and considering the variation you get vs what I paid for my old presets, it was a fair price to me. Really good explanation of how to apply them!
@@georgiaboy2023 no, I went from a 5D Mk II to the R6. I was looking for faster/better focusing and better low light performance. It did come at a cost though (IMO) of the colors. TAP is a dream on my old 5D files too though.
@@TheZachMendez Haha so fun, Eric is my studio mate and I screenshotted your preset panel to show him you had his. Will be looking for the review ;) also, TAP film emulations single handedly enhanced my brand and editing workflow. Love them so much! Thanks for sharing.
@@melissatassone8931 Haha omggg thank you! Yeah looking forward to making that vid :) Glad to hear you are also enjoying the TAP profiles. Thank you for watching!
Hi Zach. Very nice presentation of TAP profiles. would you mind sharing your tweaks that you baked into the portra 400 preset of yours. I really like what you did. I can see som hue tweaks of yours in the hsl panel. I would love to know ALL the tweaks you did. Thank you so much.
Basically I make adjustments to the HSL to ensure skin tones are as accurate as possible. Sometimes the profile can really change them in negative ways. Thanks for watching!
hello zach thank you for being honest as i have been looking to get preset to look similar to this one . any other preset you recommend as this one is very expensive.
Care to elaborate? Looking into these and it’s hard to find comparisons between the different types of film presets out there (also it should depend a lot on the camera you use in the first place, I imagine)
No profiles will work well with poorly exposed images. TAP profiles are a bit challenging at first, but they are really wonderful and I use them for all of my pro work now. Thanks for watching! :)
Nice man! Thanks for this - never knew about these
Ah yeah!! They are v cool. Thanks for watching :)

did you upgrade to the R6 from an R? I'd hate if that happened to me from going from R to R6!

Definitely getting these! But where did you get the porta and ektar preset ?
@thezachmendez man you're a presets Maniac! ❤ Much love from the Dominicana Republic. By The way this is my fathers RUclips channel. 😅
Does RNI not have a solution for grain profiles? Dehancer has grain with detailed control in highlights mids and shadows.
0:12 - 0:15 me after ignoring 5 tiktok mental health check-ups in a row after scrolling for hours on the app.
Lol real
Eric’s Floberg’s presets have the DevelopX profile. So his stuff takes you out of Adobe which is good.
Yes, his are great! Planning to make a video on those specifically soon. Thanks for watching!
@@TheZachMendez No probs. You both are my fav RUclipsrs. Keep up the amazing work.

Which pack did you end up purchasing? Debating between the green pack and yellow.
I have both but I usually like the Fujifilm one (green?) more
Thankyou shawn mendes!

Look at the Goodlight presets! Thanks for watching! :)
@@TheZachMendez really appreciated they are $340 do you think they are worth getting ?
Really appreciated your response
Love these. Have you ever shot on any of these films?
Make sure you check out The Film Grain action they sell too, Lightroom grain is terrible.
the big problem is that you can't use a default color profile.
We can only use the default presets, but the settings are not reset to 0.
Too bad
I'm not sure what you mean? Thanks for watching :)
Yes you can reset everything to 0 and apply the TAP profile of your choice:m; couldn’t be simpler
THANK YOU!!!!
Considering how much I spend on film development and scanning, I definitely think these profiles aren’t that expensive.
Ah good point! Thank you for watching :)
Hope your bussiness is running smoothly!
Thanks so much, Keith!!
RNI FIlms presets are way better , cuz Archetype works only for photos taken in ideal light conditions
TAP work in any lighting condition - just choose the right speed profile

For the life of me i can't get these to work as when creating a tap preset lol.
200 lol never
Haha I get it
Amazing video I’m already following you on instagram ❤ thanks 🙏
Ah thank you so much for following!! :)
